Service Manager

Key Responsibilities:1. Operations & Field Service ManagementManage preventive, breakdown, and corrective maintenance of forklifts at client locations and in-house.

• Coordinate and oversee on-site repairs, overhauling jobs, and AMC services.
• Assign jobs to technicians, monitor daily progress, and ensure timely job completion.
• Maintain a service calendar and assign technicians accordingly.
• Review and approve service job cards.
• 2. Customer Coordination & RelationshipAct as the primary point of contact for all service-related queries.
• Provide customers with job updates, repair estimates, and service reports.
• Ensure prompt resolution of customer complaints and technical escalations.
• Build long-term relationships with AMC and contract customers.
• 3. Team ManagementLead and supervise a team of field technicians, helpers, and workshop staff.
• Conduct regular team briefings, safety training, and skill upgradation.
• Track technician productivity and attendance.
• 4. Maintenance Planning & ReportingTrack and schedule periodic maintenance (PM) of forklifts as per OEM or internal standards.
• Maintain detailed service records and generate daily, weekly, and monthly reports.
• Monitor fleet downtime and ensure minimal service disruptions.
• 5. Parts, Tools & InventoryPlan and ensure the availability of critical spare parts and tools.
• Coordinate with the parts store for issue and return of materials.
• Approve and verify consumables usage and ensure minimum wastage.
• 6. AMC & Service Contracts ExecutionPlan and execute AMC visits, including checklist compliance and customer sign-off.
• Renew AMCs on time and identify service revenue opportunities.
• 7. Cost & Quality ControlControl service costs (manpower, parts, travel).
• Ensure safety, quality, and compliance in all service jobs.
• Ensure adherence to ISO/SOP/service documentation (if applicable).
• Qualifications & Experience:Diploma / BE in Mechanical / Electrical / Automobile Engineering.
• Minimum 5–8 years of experience in industrial equipment/forklift service management.
• Hands-on experience in forklift maintenance is mandatory.
• Proven ability to manage field teams and handle customer service independently.
• Key Skills:Strong technical knowledge of forklifts (diesel, battery-operated, electric).
• Team leadership and field team supervision.
• Customer handling and communication.
• Proficiency in MS Excel, service software/ERP (optional).
• Ability to handle pressure situations and breakdown escalations.
• Problem-solving, attention to detail, and multitasking.
