Job Title: Technology Consultant – QA Automation Engineer

Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced QA Automation Engineer with strong expertise in Selenium, Java/Python/JavaScript, API testing, and CI/CD-integrated automation. The ideal candidate should have experience designing reusable test automation frameworks, developing automated test suites, and ensuring quality across enterprise applications.

The role will collaborate closely with Developers, Manual Testers, Product Managers, and DevOps teams to define testing strategies, improve automation coverage, and enable continuous testing throughout the software development lifecycle.

Day to Day Job Duties

• Design, develop, and maintain reusable test automation frameworks, utilities, and tools.
• Develop automated test scripts using Java, Python, or JavaScript.
• Build and maintain UI automation solutions using Selenium.
• Automate functional, regression, integration, and API testing.
• Develop reusable test components, test-data utilities, and automation libraries.
• Analyze automated test failures and identify application, framework, environment, or data-related issues.
• Identify, document, and track software defects through resolution.
• Collaborate with Developers to reproduce issues and support root cause analysis.
• Integrate automated test suites into GitLab CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous testing with application changes.
• Maintain and update automated tests as application functionality and user interfaces evolve.
• Work with Developers, Manual Testers, Business Analysts, and Product Managers to understand requirements and define appropriate test coverage.
• Participate in test planning, automation strategy, code reviews, and release readiness activities.
• Track test execution, automation coverage, defects, and quality metrics.
• Use Rally for Agile delivery/test tracking and defect management as applicable.
• Leverage GitLab Duo and AI-assisted development capabilities to improve automation development and engineering productivity.

Basic Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Software Testing, Quality Engineering, and Test Automation.
• 4+ years of experience with Selenium and automation development using Java, Python, or JavaScript.
• 3+ years of experience with functional, regression, API, and integration test automation.
• 2+ years of experience integrating automated tests with GitLab or other CI/CD pipelines.

• Version Control: Git, GitLab
• Framework Development: Reusable Automation Frameworks, Utilities & Libraries

Nice to Have

• Experience with modern automation tools such as Playwright or Cypress.
• Experience with BDD frameworks such as Cucumber.
• Knowledge of SQL and backend database validation.
• Experience designing automation frameworks from scratch.
• Familiarity with Docker and containerized test execution.
• Experience with AWS, Azure, or other cloud platforms.
• Knowledge of parallel and cross-browser test execution.
• Experience implementing automated quality gates within CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience using AI-assisted coding tools for test development and maintenance.
• Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum, SDLC, and STLC.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, collaboration, and communication skills.
