Job Description
Robotics Engineer –
Role
Program, configure, install and commission industrial robots for manufacturing applications. You will make sure they run reliably in automatic mode and meet the agreed cycle times.
Responsibilities
- Program, modify, test and troubleshoot ABB, KUKA and FANUC robots
- Develop and commission robot applications: material handling, spot welding, sealing, arc welding and painting
- Configure robots, tools and application parameters to suit the process
- Integrate robots with PLCs and verify communication, signals, interlocks and sequence operation
- Install, start up, test and commission robots at customer sites
- Carry out application prove-out and achieve successful Auto Run operation
- Optimize cycle time against the approved cycle-time chart
- Resolve robot, process, interlock and communication issues during commissioning
- Coordinate with controls, electrical, mechanical, process and customer teams
- Maintain program backups, software revisions and commissioning records
- Follow site safety and quality procedures
Required skills
- Hands-on programming of ABB, KUKA and FANUC robots
- Robot setup for handling, spot welding, sealing, arc welding and painting
- Robot–PLC signal, sequence and interlock integration
- Troubleshooting of programs, faults and sequences
- Installation, commissioning, prove-out and Auto Run validation
- Understanding of robot safety and cell interlocks
Qualification and experience
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics, Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, Mechanical or a related field
- Minimum 3+ years of industrial robot programming experience
- Exposure to automation projects, robot integration and on-site commissioning
Preferred
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Able to work independently at customer sites
- Willing to travel to project locations
