CNC Operator

The CNC Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring CNC machines to manufacture precision components according to engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards. The role requires attention to detail, accurate measurement, and adherence to safety and production procedures.

Key Responsibilities

Set up and operate CNC machines such as lathes, milling machines, and machining centers.

Load raw materials and correctly position workpieces, fixtures, and cutting tools.

Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work instructions.

Select and verify appropriate CNC programs, tools, speeds, and feeds.

Monitor machining operations and make necessary adjustments to maintain product quality.

Inspect finished components using measuring instruments such as vernier calipers, micrometers, gauges, and height gauges.

Ensure manufactured parts meet required dimensions, tolerances, and surface-finish specifications.

Perform tool changes, offsets, and basic machine adjustments when required.

Identify machine or quality problems and report faults to the supervisor or maintenance team.

Complete production, inspection, and quality documentation accurately.

Perform routine machine cleaning and basic preventive maintenance.

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working area.

Follow company health, safety, quality, and manufacturing procedures.

Meet production targets while minimizing scrap, rework, and machine downtime.

Qualifications and Skills

Previous experience operating CNC machinery in a manufacturing environment preferred.

Ability to read engineering drawings and understand dimensional tolerances.

Knowledge of CNC machining processes, cutting tools, and basic machine setup.

Ability to use precision measuring and inspection equipment.

Basic understanding of CNC programs and machine controls.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Good mechanical and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a production team.

Willingness to work shifts and overtime when required.
