Job Description – Senior Accountant
Department: Finance & Accounts
Location: Nehru Place, New Delhi
Employment Type: Full-Time
Experience: 3–6 Years
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to manage the company's day-
to-day accounting operations, statutory compliances, financial reporting, reconciliations, payroll-related
accounting, and year-end books finalisation.
The ideal candidate should have strong practical knowledge of accounting, ITR, GST, TDS, PF, ESIC,
financial statements, audit coordination, and books finalisation, and should be capable of handling
accounting activities independently.
Key Responsibilities
1. Accounting & Book Finalisation
Manage day-to-day accounting transactions, including sales, purchases, receipts, payments,
expenses, and journal entries.
Maintain accurate books of accounts and general ledgers.
Prepare and review Trial Balance, Profit & Loss Account, Balance Sheet, and supporting
schedules.
Independently handle year-end books finalisation.
Ensure proper accounting treatment of all financial transactions.
Identify and rectify accounting discrepancies.
Maintain proper documentation and supporting records for all accounting entries.
Coordinate with the CA and auditors for finalisation of accounts.
2. Income Tax & ITR
Handle accounting and compliance activities related to Income Tax.
Coordinate for preparation and timely filing of Income Tax Returns (ITR).
Maintain necessary records and documents for income-tax compliance.
Assist in income-tax-related assessments, notices, and queries, wherever required.
Coordinate with the company's CA/tax consultant for income-tax matters.
3. GST & TDS Compliance
Handle GST accounting and compliance-related activities.
Verify input and output GST records and ensure proper accounting.
Perform regular GST reconciliation with books of accounts.
Handle TDS calculation, deduction, payment, reconciliation, and return filing.
Maintain TDS records and supporting documentation.
Ensure timely compliance with applicable GST and TDS requirements.
Coordinate with consultants for GST/TDS-related notices and queries.
4. PF & ESIC Compliance
Handle Provident Fund (PF) and ESIC related accounting and compliance activities.
Ensure timely calculation, deduction, payment, and filing of PF and ESIC contributions.
Verify PF and ESIC deductions with payroll and accounting records.
Perform regular reconciliation of PF and ESIC payable balances.
Coordinate with HR regarding employee-related statutory deductions and contributions.
Maintain proper PF and ESIC records and supporting documents.
Coordinate with consultants/statutory authorities regarding PF and ESIC-related matters, notices, or
queries.
5. Payroll Accounting
Coordinate with HR for monthly payroll processing and accounting.
Verify salary-related calculations, deductions, reimbursements, and provisions.
Ensure proper accounting of PF, ESIC, TDS, and other applicable statutory deductions.
Prepare and pass payroll-related accounting entries.
Reconcile payroll figures with accounting records.
6. Bank & Ledger Reconciliation
Conduct regular bank reconciliations.
Reconcile customer, vendor, and other ledger accounts.
Identify and resolve discrepancies in accounting records.
Monitor outstanding receivables and payables.
Ensure timely and accurate reconciliation of financial transactions.
7. Financial Reporting & MIS
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
Prepare P&L, Balance Sheet, Trial Balance, and Cash Flow statements.
Prepare MIS reports related to revenue, expenses, receivables, payables, and cash flow.
Provide accurate financial information and analysis to management.
Assist management with financial planning and decision-making through relevant reports.
8. Audit & Compliance
Coordinate with CA, statutory auditors, tax consultants, and other professionals.
Assist in statutory, internal, and tax audits.
Provide financial statements, schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documents required for
audits.
Ensure timely completion of applicable accounting and statutory compliances.
Maintain proper records for audit and compliance purposes.
9. Accounts Payable & Receivable
Verify vendor invoices and supporting documents before processing.
Maintain vendor and customer accounts.
Monitor outstanding payables and receivables.
Follow up on pending payments and collections.
Ensure accurate and timely recording of all transactions.
Resolve discrepancies with vendors and customers as required.
Required Skills
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
Practical knowledge of Books Finalisation.
Good understanding of Income Tax and ITR.
Strong working knowledge of GST and TDS.
Practical knowledge of PF and ESIC compliance.
Good knowledge of payroll accounting and statutory deductions.
Strong reconciliation and analytical skills.
Proficiency in Tally/ERP and MS Excel.
Good knowledge of financial statements and MIS reporting.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to independently manage accounting activities and meet deadlines.
Good communication and coordination skills.
Educational Qualification
B.Com is acceptable for the position.
M.Com / CA Inter / CMA Inter will be an added advantage.
MBA in Finance will be a plus.
Experience
3–6 years of relevant experience in accounting and finance.
Experience in independently handling complete accounting operations will be preferred.
Candidates should have practical exposure to Books Finalisation, ITR, GST, TDS, PF, ESIC, payroll
accounting, reconciliations, financial reporting, and audit coordination.
Ideal Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate should be capable of independently managing the company's accounting function with
minimum supervision. The candidate should have practical exposure to day-to-day accounting, statutory
compliances, ITR, GST, TDS, PF, ESIC, payroll accounting, reconciliations, financial reporting, audit
coordination, and finalisation of books of accounts.
