WORK MANAGER

We are seeking an experienced and result-oriented Works Manager to oversee day-to-day service and repair operations at our authorized Eicher Truck and Bus dealership workshop. The Works Manager will be responsible for leading technical staff, optimizing floor productivity, maintaining high customer satisfaction, managing OEM (Eicher / VECV) operational standards, and ensuring seamless processing of warranty claims and job cards. The candidate should have good knowledge of DBM SAP

Key Responsibilities

• 1. Workshop & Floor ManagementJob Card Creation & Processing: Oversee accurate and prompt generation of job cards for every incoming vehicle, capturing customer concerns, vehicle details, and initial diagnosis.
• Work Allocation & Supervision: Assign repair and maintenance tasks to technicians/mechanicians based on skill levels, job complexity, and daily targets.
• Floor Efficiency: Monitor job progress on the shop floor to ensure standard repair times (SRT) are met and bay turnaround time is minimized.
• Quality Assurance: Conduct random quality checks and post-service testing on heavy commercial vehicles (HCVs) and light/medium duty buses to minimize re-work.
• 2. Team Leadership & Employee HandlingStaff Supervision: Lead, discipline, and support workshop technicians, service advisors, inventory personnel, and helpers.
• Performance & Productivity: Set daily output targets, manage floor discipline, track individual technician efficiency, and manage duty schedules/shifts.
• Training & Skill Development: Identify technical skill gaps and coordinate with Eicher corporate trainers for technical and safety certifications.
• 3. Customer Service & Relationship ManagementCustomer Interaction: Directly address key customer inquiries, Fleet Operators, and Transport Managers regarding estimated repair times, costs, and scope of work.
• Grievance Handling: Resolve complex technical complaints and customer escalations with transparency and professionalism.
• Breakdown Support: Coordinate local breakdown support / Mobile Service Vans (EOS - Eicher On-Road Service) to assist stranded commercial vehicles promptly.
• 4. Warranty Claim Management & OEM LiaisonWarranty Processing: Scrutinize failed components, verify service records, and submit accurate, timely warranty claims into the Eicher dealer management portal in accordance with VECV warranty guidelines.
• OEM Compliance: Maintain workshop standards as prescribed by Eicher (tooling, calibration, safety, and operational processes).
• Company Technical Audits: Serve as the primary point of contact for Eicher service engineers, territory managers, and field technical support visits.
• 5. Inventory & Operational AdminParts Coordination: Work closely with the Spare Parts department to ensure required OEM spare parts, lubricants, and retread materials are stocked for routine maintenance and critical overhauls.
• Safety & Standards: Maintain shop floor safety, equipment maintenance (lifts, compressors, diagnostic scanners, air tools), and workplace cleanliness.
