Restaurant Staff

Job Overview : We are seeking an energetic, dependable Ice Cream Server & Inventory Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for creating great guest experiences by serving ice cream orders with enthusiasm while ensuring our cold storage and stock areas remain organized, fully supplied, and strictly managed. The ideal candidate is friendly, detail-oriented, capable of managing stock inventory.

Key Responsibilities

1. Front-of-House & Customer Service

• Greet customers warmly, present menu choices, answer questions about ingredients/allergens, and offer flavor recommendations.
• Scoop ice cream accurately according to portion guidelines and prepare cones, cups, sundaes, milkshakes, and specialized orders.
• Operate the Point of Sale (POS) cash register, process cash/card transactions accurately, and handle daily register balancing.
• Maintain a clean, presentable, and hygienic counter space and dining area.

2. Storage & Inventory Management

• Monitor inventory levels in both front-of-house dipping cabinets and back-of-house storage freezers.
• Receive, inspect, and unload incoming shipments of ice cream tubs, toppings, packaging, and supplies.
• Organize cold storage units using the FIFO (First-In, First-Out) method to ensure product freshness and minimize wastage.
• Safely transfer stock from deep freezers to service cabinets as needed throughout the shift.
• Monitor and log freezer temperatures regularly; report any equipment discrepancies or maintenance needs immediately.

3. Sanitation & Quality Control

• Follow food safety, health, and hygiene standards at all times.
• Clean and sanitize scooping tools, dipping wells, countertops, display cases, and storage racks on a daily schedule.
• Ensure proper wear of uniforms, hair restraints, and food-handling gloves.

Requirements & Qualifications

Experience: Previous food service, retail, or stockroom/warehouse experience is an asset (entry-level candidates willing to learn are welcome to apply).

• Physical Capabilities: Ability to stand for long periods, perform repetitive scooping motions
• Skills: Strong customer service orientation, basic arithmetic for cash handling, and organizational skills.
• Availability: Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends, evenings, and holidays as required.
