Job Summary:

We are looking for a passionate and detail-oriented Dessert Chef to join our bakery team. The role focuses on the preparation and production of bakery desserts such as tea cakes, cookies, frangipanes, cheesecakes, and other baked dessert items. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of baking fundamentals, consistency, and food safety standards.

• Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and bake a variety of bakery desserts, including:

• Tea cakes (loaf cakes, sponge-based cakes, flavored cakes)
• Cookies and biscuits
• Frangipanes and tart fillings
• Cheesecakes (baked and no-bake)

• Follow standardized recipes to ensure consistent quality, taste, and presentation
• Handle mixing, baking, cooling, finishing, and basic decoration of desserts
• Maintain hygiene, food safety, and cleanliness in the work area as per SOPs
• Assist in daily production planning and timely completion of dessert batches
• Monitor ingredient quality, shelf life, and proper storage
• Support senior chefs in new product trials and seasonal dessert preparation
• Minimize wastage and follow correct portioning practices

Skills & Requirements:

• Minimum 1 year of experience in a bakery or dessert kitchen
• Strong knowledge of bakery desserts and baking techniques
• Familiarity with ovens, mixers, and basic bakery equipment
• Ability to work with precision, consistency, and attention to detail
• Understanding of basic food safety and hygiene practices
• Team player with a positive attitude and willingness to learn
• Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment

Preferred (Good to Have):

• Experience in artisan or commercial bakeries
• Exposure to recipe scaling and bulk production
• Basic understanding of costing and yield control
