Site Civil Engineer

Rightlane Infratech is hiring a BBS Engineer for its building construction project in Greater Noida West.

The primary responsibility is to prepare accurate Bar Bending Schedules, maintain detailed steel and concrete management records, control material wastage, and submit verified monthly reconciliation reports. Site checking and casting supervision will be required occasionally, as a supporting responsibility.

Role & Responsibilities

1. BBS Preparation and Steel Planning
2. • Prepare and revise Bar Bending Schedules from approved structural drawings.
3. • Maintain diameter-wise, floor-wise, structural member-wise and contractor-wise steel quantities.
4. • Plan cutting lengths and optimise cutting schedules to minimise scrap.
5. • Track reusable offcuts and ensure their planned use wherever permitted by approved drawings and specifications.
6. Steel Management and Reconciliation
7. • Maintain daily Excel records of steel received, issued to contractors, returned, consumed and available on site.
8. • Physically verify stock, including unused bars, cut-and-bent steel, reusable offcuts and scrap.
9. • Track steel fixed in position but awaiting casting, and work executed but pending billing.
10. • Reconcile contractor issues against approved BBS quantities, actual work completed and balance material held by each contractor.
11. • Identify shortages, excess consumption and unexplained differences, with supporting records and corrective actions.
12. Concrete Management
13. • Maintain pour-wise records of theoretical concrete quantities, quantities ordered, received, poured, returned/rejected and billed.
14. • Compare actual concrete consumption against drawing-based quantities.
15. • Verify delivery challans and pour records, and investigate excess consumption.
16. • Coordinate with the site team and concrete supplier to improve ordering and reduce wastage.
17. Mandatory Monthly Reporting
18. Prepare an accurate month-end steel statement covering:
19. • Opening stock and steel received during the month.
20. • Steel issued to each contractor and material returned.
21. • Steel consumed in completed work.
22. • Steel billed to the client and quantities claimed in contractor bills, shown separately.
23. • Closing physical stock, including material held by contractors.
24. • Work in progress (WIP), clearly showing its stage and quantity.
25. • Executed quantities pending billing.
26. • Reusable offcuts, scrap, wastage percentage and unexplained variance.

Maintain clear category definitions so that stock, contractor-held material, WIP and billed quantities are not double-counted.

Submit a monthly concrete reconciliation statement showing theoretical quantity, actual consumption, billed quantity, excess consumption and reasons for variation.

Reports must include supporting records, discrepancies requiring attention, and practical measures to reduce wastage.

1. Occasional Site Support
2. • Assist with reinforcement checks and observations during casting when required.
3. • Coordinate with the existing site engineers to resolve quantity and execution discrepancies.
4. • BBS preparation, material control and reporting will remain the priority responsibilities.

Preferred Candidate Profile

• Diploma/B.Tech in Civil Engineering with relevant building construction experience.

• Hands-on experience in BBS preparation, steel reconciliation and concrete quantity tracking.

• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the ability to read structural drawings in AutoCAD/PDF.

• Ability to maintain independently verifiable records and deliver accurate monthly reports.

• Practical experience in cutting optimisation, offcut utilisation and material wastage reduction.

• High-rise building experience preferred.

Candidates should be comfortable taking ownership of both material records and physical verification at site.
