Warehouse Supervisor

Job SummaryWe are looking for an experienced Warehouse Supervisor to manage day-to-day warehouse and in-plant material handling operations. The candidate should have good knowledge of SAP warehouse transactions, inventory management, material movement, in-plant logistics, and manpower handling.

The role involves ensuring smooth material flow, accurate inventory, proper storage, timely material availability to production, and effective utilization of warehouse manpower.

• Key ResponsibilitiesSupervise day-to-day warehouse and in-plant material handling operations.
• Manage receiving, unloading, inspection coordination, storage, picking, kitting, and dispatch of materials.
• Ensure timely supply of materials from warehouse to production / shop floor.
• Monitor and control material movement within the plant.
• Maintain proper storage locations, material identification, FIFO/FEFO practices, and housekeeping.
• Perform and monitor SAP transactions related to goods receipt, goods issue, stock transfer, material movement, and inventory.
• Ensure physical stock matches SAP/system stock and investigate inventory discrepancies.
• Conduct periodic cycle counts and support physical inventory/stock audits.
• Coordinate with Production, Purchase, Quality, PPC, Stores, and Logistics teams for smooth material flow.
• Plan and allocate manpower according to daily workload and operational requirements.
• Handle and supervise warehouse manpower, including work allocation, attendance, shift planning, productivity, and discipline.
• Train team members on warehouse procedures, safety, material handling, and 5S.
• Monitor team productivity and ensure work is completed within the required timelines.
• Ensure proper use and handling of forklifts, pallet trucks, racks, bins, and other material-handling equipment.
• Ensure compliance with warehouse safety, 5S, SOP, and company procedures.
• Identify process gaps and implement improvements to reduce material handling time, errors, and inventory discrepancies.
• Prepare and maintain daily/weekly warehouse reports and operational records.
• Support internal and external audits and ensure timely closure of audit observations.
• Required SkillsGood working knowledge of SAP – preferably SAP MM / WM or relevant warehouse transactions.
• Strong knowledge of in-plant warehouse operations and material flow.
• Good manpower handling and team supervision skills.
• Knowledge of inventory control and stock reconciliation.
• Knowledge of FIFO/FEFO and proper material storage practices.
• Good understanding of material handling and warehouse safety.
• Good communication and coordination skills.
• Basic knowledge of MS Excel and warehouse reporting.
• Ability to manage multiple activities and work under pressure.
• Problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Knowledge of 5S, Lean, Kaizen, and warehouse process improvement will be an advantage.
• Educational QualificationDiploma / Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Operations, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
• Relevant warehouse experience may be considered in place of a specific qualification.
