Proposal Engineer

We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Proposal Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for reviewing client tender requirements, preparing accurate technical and financial proposals, and coordinating with cross-functional teams to submit winning bids. You will serve as the core technical link between our engineering, sales, and procurement units.

Key Responsibilities

Tender Evaluation & Proposal Preparation

· Analyze Requests for Proposal (RFPs), Requests for Quotation (RFQs), and client technical specifications.

· Develop detailed techno-commercial proposals, including technical write-ups, compliance matrices, scope of work, and execution schedules.

· Prepare accurate cost estimations, bill of quantities (BOQs), and budget models in collaboration with engineering and procurement.

Technical & Cross-Functional Coordination

· Collaborate closely with Design, Operations, and Supply Chain teams to select optimal equipment and technical solutions.

· Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing and verified lead times for technical components.

· Clarify technical queries (RFIs) with clients during the bidding and negotiation stages.

Bid Management & Compliance

· Ensure all bid submissions comply strictly with client terms, safety standards, and local/international codes.

· Organize and participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and post-tender technical discussions.

· Maintain a centralized repository of proposal templates, cost databases, and historical project data to streamline future bids.

Requirements & Qualifications

· Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related field).

· Experience: [3–5+] years of experience as a Proposal Engineer, Estimation Engineer, or Tendering Specialist in [Cleanroom/HVAC/Gas Lines / EPC / Industrial Automation / Energy].

· Technical & Soft Skills:

o Proficiency in reading engineering drawings, P&IDs, schematics, and technical datasheets.

o Strong skills in Microsoft Excel (advanced costing models) and estimation/ERP software.

o Excellent written and verbal communication skills for drafting clear technical documentation.

o Strong project management and multi-tasking skills under tight bid deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

· Prior experience with formal contract terms (e.g., FIDIC or custom client T&Cs).

· Familiarity with risk assessment and cost-contingency analysis during the estimation phase.
