Job Description

An asset engineer manages, maintains, and optimizes the lifecycle, performance, and reliability of physical or technical assets (such as equipment, machinery, or infrastructure) within an organization.


Key Responsibilities

  • Asset Tracking & Registers: Maintain accurate asset registers, equipment hierarchies, and master data (often via systems like SAP PM or GIS).
  • Reliability & Maintenance: Develop preventive maintenance schedules, reliability strategies, and work instructions to reduce downtime.
  • Lifecycle & Risk Analysis: Evaluate asset condition, assess failure risks, and plan for capital renewals or replacement.
  • Compliance & Standards: Ensure all assets meet local safety, regulatory, and industry compliance requirements.
  • Cross-Functional Support: Coordinate with operations, procurement, and project teams to review vendor documents and optimize spare parts inventory.
