Job Description
An exciting apprenticeship opportunity for a recent Life Sciences/Chemicals graduate looking to build a strong foundation for a career in sales.
As an Apprentice, the candidate will gain structured, hands-on exposure to the complete sales cycle for the Laboratory Chemicals portfolio. Through customer interactions, field visits, lead generation, product promotion, territory planning, and collaboration with internal teams and channel partners, the apprentice will develop practical technical, commercial, customer-management, and professional skills.
The apprenticeship is designed to enable the candidate to learn by doing, with each activity contributing to a specific set of capabilities required for a successful career in sales.
Learning Opportunities
- Learn how to establish professional relationships, understand stakeholder needs, build trust, and manage customer and partner interactions effectively.
- Develop skills in prospecting, lead generation, customer need identification, opportunity qualification, and sales pipeline development.
- Build product and application knowledge while learning how to translate technical information into relevant customer benefits and value propositions.
- Learn the fundamentals of account management, customer retention, business development, and identifying opportunities for growth.
- Gain practical exposure to field sales, territory planning, customer segmentation, market mapping, and prioritization of accounts and opportunities.
- Build an understanding of Laboratory Chemicals, their applications, customer segments, competitive products, and market dynamics.
- Learn how different functions collaborate to support customers and develop skills in cross-functional coordination, follow-through, and problem-solving.
- Develop discipline in sales documentation, pipeline tracking, reporting, forecasting, and the use of commercial/business systems.
- Develop professional behaviours, customer orientation, accountability, ethical business practices, ownership, and collaboration.
