Job Description
- Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare and cook food according to recipes and menu standards.
- Plan and organize daily food preparation.
- Ensure food is fresh, properly stored, and of good quality.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen.
- Monitor food portions, presentation, and taste.
- Manage kitchen inventory and reduce food waste.
- Operate and maintain kitchen equipment safely.
- Coordinate with kitchen staff and supervise junior cooks when required.
- Follow food safety and health regulations.
- Assist in creating or updating menus and recipes.
- Manage food costs and control portion sizes.
- Ensure dishes are prepared and served on time.
- Required SkillsGood cooking and food preparation skills.
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene.
- Ability to work under pressure in a busy kitchen.
- Creativity and attention to detail.
- Good teamwork and communication skills.
- Ability to manage time effectively.
- Knowledge of different cooking techniques and cuisines.
- QualificationsDiploma or certificate in Culinary Arts, Hotel Management, or a related field is preferred.
- Previous experience working in a professional kitchen is an advantage.
- Food safety certification may be required depending on the workplace.
