QA / QC Executive

Reporting To: QA/QC Manager

Job Summary

The QA/QC Executive will assist in maintaining food safety, product quality, and regulatory compliance throughout the manufacturing process. The role involves monitoring production activities, conducting quality checks, maintaining records, and ensuring compliance with GMP, GHP, HACCP, FSSAI, and company quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine quality inspections of raw materials, in-process products, and finished products.
• Verify product weight, dimensions, appearance, texture, color, and packaging quality.
• Monitor critical process parameters such as mixing, proofing, baking, cooling, slicing, and packing.
• Conduct and record quality checks as per Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Hygiene Practices (GHP).
• Monitor personal hygiene and sanitation practices of production employees.
• Verify cleaning and sanitation records for production equipment and processing areas.
• Assist in metal detector verification and calibration checks as per company procedures.
• Collect product samples for laboratory testing and retain samples as required.
• Maintain QA/QC documentation, including BMRs, inspection reports, and quality records.
• Identify quality deviations and immediately report them to the QA/QC Manager.
• Assist in complaint investigations and implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
• Support internal, customer, and regulatory audits.
• Ensure compliance with FSSAI regulations and company food safety standards.
• Coordinate with Production, Warehouse, Maintenance, and R&D teams to resolve quality issues.
• Promote a strong food safety and quality culture within the organization.

Educational Qualification

• B.Sc. (Food Technology, Microbiology, Biotechnology, Chemistry, or Life Sciences)
• B.Tech./M.Tech. in Food Technology (Preferred)
• Diploma in Food Technology

Skills Required

• Basic knowledge of food safety and quality systems.
• Understanding of GMP, GHP, HACCP, and FSSAI requirements.
• Good documentation and record-keeping skills.
• Basic knowledge of bakery manufacturing processes.
• Strong observation and analytical skills.
• Good communication and teamwork abilities.
• Basic computer knowledge (MS Word, Excel, Outlook).

Preferred Knowledge

• Bakery manufacturing process.
• Food safety management systems (ISO 22000/FSSC 22000).
• Quality inspection techniques.
• Basic microbiology and food testing.

Experience

• Fresher or up to 1 year of experience in a food manufacturing industry.

Working Conditions

• Rotational shifts, including weekends if required.
• Shop-floor-based role requiring regular production monitoring.
• Compliance with PPE and food safety requirements is mandatory.
