Job Description

Position: Project Manager

Department: Projects / Operations

Location: Ranchi, Jharkhand

Experience: 3–7 Years

Employment Type: Full-Time

Industry: Interior Design / Modular Furniture / Construction / Project Execution

Reporting To: Senior Business Manager / Operations Head

1. Job PurposeThe Project Manager will be responsible for the end-to-end execution of interior and modular furniture projects, ensuring projects are completed within the committed timeline, budget, quality standards, and client expectations.

The Project Manager will coordinate between the client, designer, sales team, production team, vendors, site in-charge, carpenters, installers, and management to ensure smooth project execution.

  • 2. Key ResponsibilitiesA. Project Planning & ExecutionTake complete ownership of assigned projects from project handover to final completion.
  • Study the approved design, quotation, BOQ, scope of work, and project requirements.
  • Prepare a detailed project execution plan and timeline.
  • Plan activities such as measurement, material procurement, production, delivery, installation, finishing and handover.
  • Ensure work is executed as per approved drawings and specifications.
  • Monitor project progress against planned timelines.
  • B. Client CoordinationAct as the primary point of contact for the client during project execution.
  • Conduct regular client meetings/site visits.
  • Provide timely updates regarding project progress.
  • Understand and resolve client concerns, complaints and execution-related issues.
  • Obtain approvals wherever required.
  • Maintain professional communication and ensure a positive client experience.

C. Team CoordinationCoordinate effectively with:

  • Business Development / Sales Team
  • Designers
  • Site In-charge
  • Production Team
  • Procurement Team
  • Carpenters & Installers
  • Electricians / Plumbers / Civil Contractors
  • Vendors & Subcontractors
  • Accounts Team

Ensure that every department completes its activity within the required timeline.

  • D. Site ManagementConduct regular site inspections.
  • Monitor manpower and productivity.
  • Ensure proper sequence of work at site.
  • Check dimensions, installation quality and finishing.
  • Identify site-related issues before they affect the project timeline.
  • Ensure proper housekeeping and safety at the site.
  • Coordinate rectification and snagging activities.
  • E. Material & Procurement ManagementPrepare material requirements based on project schedules.
  • Coordinate with procurement and vendors for timely material availability.
  • Track material orders, production and deliveries.
  • Ensure materials received at site match approved specifications.
  • Minimize material wastage, damage and shortage.
  • F. Quality ControlEnsure execution as per approved design and company quality standards.
  • Conduct quality checks at different stages of execution.
  • Identify defects and ensure timely rectification.
  • Conduct final quality inspection before client handover.
  • Prepare and close the project snag list.
  • G. Timeline ManagementMaintain the project schedule and milestone tracker.
  • Monitor daily and weekly progress.
  • Identify potential delays and take corrective action.
  • Escalate critical delays to management immediately.
  • Ensure projects are completed within the committed delivery date.
  • H. Cost & Commercial ControlMonitor project costs against the approved quotation/BOQ.
  • Control additional and unnecessary expenses.
  • Ensure additional work is executed only after proper approval.
  • Coordinate with accounts regarding client payment milestones.
  • Support the sales/accounts team in collection of pending payments linked to project milestones.

  • BOQ / Quotation
  • Site Measurement
  • Project Schedule
  • Material Requirement
  • Purchase/Production Status
  • Daily/Weekly Progress Report
  • Client Approval Records
  • Change Requests
  • Site Photos
  • Snag List
  • Completion & Handover Documents

Update project status regularly in the company's Project Management / CRM software.

Software SkillsCandidate should be comfortable with:

  • Excel / Google Sheets
  • Project Management Software

  • AutoCAD – basic understanding preferred
  • MS Office / Google Workspace

Experience with Dzylo or similar project management software will be an advantage.

6. Qualification & ExperienceEducation:

Bachelor's degree/diploma in Civil Engineering, Interior Design, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.

3–7 years of experience in:

  • Interior Projects
  • Modular Furniture
  • Residential Interiors
  • Commercial Interiors
  • Construction
  • Fit-out Projects
  • Furniture Installation

Candidates with strong practical site-execution experience may also be considered.

7. Authority & AccountabilityThe Project Manager will be responsible for:

Plan → Coordinate → Execute → Monitor → Control → Resolve → Complete → Handover

The PM must immediately escalate to management:

  • Major timeline risks
  • Client disputes
  • Major quality issues
  • Cost overruns
  • Material shortages
  • Vendor failures
  • Manpower shortages
  • Scope changes
  • Payment-related project risks

8. Ideal Candidate ProfileWe are looking for a hands-on Project Manager who can independently manage projects from start to finish.

The candidate should not only sit in the office and prepare reports but should be actively involved at the site, understand execution problems, coordinate teams, solve issues quickly and ensure that the project is delivered as committed.
