Cashier Cum Accountant

The Cashier cum Accountant handles day-to-day cash transactions, customer invoicing, counter collections, and routine accounting entries for dealership sales, spare parts, and vehicle service operations. This role ensures smooth daily cash management while supporting statutory record-keeping and basic ledger maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

1. Cashier & Counter Operations

• Receive daily customer payments for vehicle sales, spare parts, and workshop repairs via Cash, Cards, UPI, and Net Banking.
• Issue official invoices, receipts, tax bills, and payment acknowledgments to customers.
• Maintain and balance the physical cash box/petty cash daily and reconcile ending balances against system sales logs.
• Ensure safe storage, transfer, and bank deposits of physical cash and customer cheques.

2. Day-to-Day Accounting & Data Entry

• Record all daily transactions—sales, purchases, receipts, vendor payments, and operational expenses—in the accounting software (Tally / ERP).
• Assist in maintaining Accounts Receivable (customer payments) and Accounts Payable (vendor invoices) ledgers.
• Perform routine daily bank and cash account reconciliations.
• Verify supporting documents, purchase bills, and vendor vouchers before processing payments.

3. Documentation & Statutory Support

• File and organize hard copies of invoices, payment vouchers, bank deposit slips, and customer receipts systematically.
• Assist the Senior Accountant in organizing GST, TDS, and other tax-related documentation.
• Support month-end close procedures and external/internal audit preparation.
• Immediately report any payment discrepancies, cash shortages, or accounting anomalies to management.

Candidate Profile & Qualifications

• Education: Graduate degree in commerce (B.Com, B.Com Hons., B.Com in Accounting & Finance / Commerce, or related fields).
• Experience: 0 to 2 years of relevant experience in cash handling, retail cashiering, or basic accounting (freshers with relevant qualifications are welcome).
• Technical Skills:
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Tally Prime / ERP tools).
• Working knowledge of MS Excel / Google Sheets and Word.
• Basic understanding of GST, TDS, and invoicing standards in automobile retail/service operations.
• Key Competencies: High level of integrity, strong numerical ability, attention to detail, basic English communication skills, and customer service orientation.
