Job Description

Role Purpose :

The Wellbeing & Engagement Coordinator will support the organisation in creating a positive colleague experience where people feel valued, connected, listened to and supported to do their best work.

Working across our services and support functions, the role will help bring colleagues and teams together, strengthen communication and recognition, support wellbeing initiatives, and contribute to improved colleague engagement and retention.

A key part of the role will be helping us develop our approach to employee experience – recognising that to create stability and support our growth ambitions we need people who can be at work, work well and feel good, particularly in services where colleagues may work in demanding and emotionally challenging roles.

This is a coordination and facilitation role rather than a management role.

Key Responsibilities :

Colleague Engagement & Voice

● Build strong relationships across the organisation, creating opportunities for colleagues to be heard and involved.

● Coordinate colleague engagement and pulse surveys, including Net Provider Score / employee advocacy measures, and encourage strong participation.

● Analyse feedback to identify key themes, trends and areas for action.

● Support local and organisational action plans arising from colleague feedback.

● Coordinate colleague forums, listening sessions and other opportunities to contribute ideas.

● Promote a strong “you said, we did” approach and share examples of positive colleague experience and good practice.

Wellbeing & Employee Experience

Support the delivery of our developing employee experience approach, helping create working environments where colleagues can:

Be at work – Work well – Feel good.

This will include:

● Coordinate wellbeing initiatives that support physical, emotional, and psychological wellbeing.

● Promote healthy working practices, including rest, recovery, resilience, and psychological safety.

● Help colleagues understand and access available wellbeing resources and support.

● Use feedback and pulse checks to identify themes around workload, pressure, support, and employee experience.

● Coordinate wellbeing campaigns, activities and appropriate signposting to internal or external support.

● Work with the Therapy team and other colleagues to support reflective practice, positive , relationships, and wellbeing.

The role will not provide counselling, clinical support or manage individual employee relations matters, but will ensure colleagues know where appropriate support can be accessed.

Recognition & Feeling Valued

● Develop and coordinate practical ways to recognise and celebrate colleagues and their achievements.

● Support recognition initiatives, awards and opportunities for peer-to-peer appreciation.

● Capture and share positive stories, celebrating long service, qualifications, career progression and key milestones.

● Ensure recognition is inclusive and accessible to colleagues across all locations, shifts and roles.

Communication & Connection

● Strengthen communication and connection between services and support functions.

● Coordinate colleague communications, sharing key updates, achievements, opportunities and wellbeing resources.

● Create an engaging newsletter with organisational updates.

● Help colleagues understand wider organisational priorities and how their role contributes to our purpose.

● Create opportunities to share ideas and good practice, helping to reduce silos across the organisation.

● Maintain an engagement calendar covering communications, wellbeing, recognition, surveys and colleague events.

Colleague Retention & Experience

● Support the People team to understand and improve the colleague experience across the employee lifecycle.

● Coordinate stay conversations/surveys and analyse exit feedback to identify key retention themes.

● Identify opportunities to strengthen belonging, connection, morale, and retention.

● Support key employee milestones, including onboarding, recognition, and career development.

● Work with People & Culture and L&D to promote development opportunities and career

pathways, escalating emerging concerns where appropriate.

Culture & Values

● Bring our values and culture to life through practical engagement and recognition activities.

● Strengthen belonging and shared identity across the organisation.

● Celebrate colleagues who demonstrate our values in practice.

● Help colleagues connect their work to better outcomes for children and young people.

● Champion a culture of kindness, respect, inclusion, recognition and accountability.

Wellbeing & Engagement Network

● Develop and support a network of Wellbeing & Engagement Champions across services.

● Provide Champions with resources, ideas and campaigns to use locally.

● Use feedback from the network to identify emerging themes and opportunities.

● Encourage locally relevant activity while maintaining a consistent organisational approach.

● Share successful ideas and good practice across services.

Data, Measures & Continuous Improvement

● engagement survey participation and results

● wellbeing pulse scores

● colleague recognition activity

● retention and turnover themes

Work with the People team to use this information to identify priorities and measure whether interventions are making a difference.

The postholder will not be accountable for organisational HR metrics but will support the collection, coordination, and interpretation of relevant engagement information.
