Job Description – Sales Executive (Steel Products)

Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and customer-focused Sales Executive to drive sales and expand our customer base in the steel industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for building strong relationships with existing and prospective customers, promoting premium steel products from leading brands such as Tata Steel and JSW Steel, and ensuring seamless order execution while delivering exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing customers while identifying and acquiring new business opportunities.
• Promote and sell a wide range of steel products from leading brands, including Tata Steel and JSW Steel.
• Understand customer requirements and recommend suitable steel products based on their application and project needs.
• Handle customer inquiries, prepare quotations, negotiate pricing, and convert opportunities into confirmed sales orders.
• Coordinate with warehouse, dispatch, logistics, and accounts teams to ensure smooth and timely order processing and delivery.
• Follow up on payments, outstanding receivables, and customer accounts to ensure timely collections.
• Maintain accurate sales records, customer databases, daily sales reports, and CRM updates.
• Identify and develop business opportunities in the construction, manufacturing, infrastructure, and industrial sectors.
• Monitor competitor activities, market trends, and pricing to support effective sales strategies.
• Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through prompt service, effective communication, and long-term relationship management.

Required Skills & Competencies

• Customer-oriented mindset with strong problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office and CRM/software for sales reporting.
• Ability to work independently and achieve sales targets.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Commerce, Engineering, or a related field.
• 2–5 years of sales experience, preferably in the steel, metal, building materials, or construction industry.
• Experience in B2B sales and channel/customer management will be an added advantage.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Positive attitude, eagerness to learn, and a customer-focused approach.
