Maintenance Engineer

1. Machine & Mechanical Maintenance

• Perform preventive and breakdown maintenance of production machinery and equipment. 

• Troubleshoot mechanical problems related to machines, motors, gearboxes, bearings, belts, chains, pneumatic systems, hydraulic systems, etc. 

• Conduct regular inspection of machines to identify potential failures. 

• Ensure timely lubrication, servicing, alignment, and replacement of machine components. 

• Maintain machine health and minimize production downtime. 

• Coordinate with machine suppliers/service engineers for major repairs and technical support. 

2. Electrical Maintenance

• Handle maintenance of electrical panels, motors, starters, contactors, relays, sensors, switches, and control systems. 

• Troubleshoot electrical faults and machine-related electrical breakdowns. 

• Monitor power supply, electrical connections, cables, MCBs, MCCs, and distribution systems. 

• Support installation, commissioning, and maintenance of new machines. 

• Ensure proper earthing and electrical safety practices. 

• Coordinate with external electricians/contractors for specialized electrical work. 

3. Preventive Maintenance

• Prepare and execute daily, weekly, monthly, and annual preventive maintenance schedules. 

• Maintain machine-wise maintenance checklists and service records. 

• Monitor machine performance and identify recurring breakdowns. 

• Develop corrective actions to prevent repeated machine failures. 

• Ensure critical spare parts are available as per maintenance requirements. 

4. Breakdown Management

• Attend machine breakdowns immediately to minimize production loss. 

• Identify the root cause of breakdowns and implement corrective actions. 

• Maintain breakdown history and downtime records. 

• Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for major or repetitive breakdowns. 

• Coordinate with Production to prioritize critical machine repairs. 

5. Spare Parts & Inventory

• Identify and maintain adequate stock of critical maintenance spares. 

• Prepare requirements for electrical and mechanical spare parts. 

• Coordinate with Purchase/Stores for timely procurement of maintenance materials. 

• Maintain records of spare parts consumption and replacement. 

6. Safety & Compliance

• Ensure all maintenance activities are performed according to safety procedures. 

• Follow LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) procedures wherever applicable. 

• Ensure electrical and mechanical equipment are maintained in safe operating condition. 

• Identify maintenance-related safety risks and take corrective action. 

• Support factory safety and statutory inspection requirements. 

7. Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain preventive maintenance records. 

• Prepare daily/monthly maintenance reports. 

• Track machine downtime and breakdown frequency. 

• Maintain machine history cards and service records. 

• Monitor maintenance KPIs such as MTBF, MTTR, machine availability, and breakdown hours.
