Moulder Operator

1. Mold Preparation

Prepare and inspect molds before production.

Clean molds and apply appropriate release agents.

Check mold surface condition, dimensions and defects.

Install inserts, fixtures and other required components.

Ensure proper mold sealing for vacuum-bagging and infusion processes.

2. Carbon Fiber / Composite Lay-up

Read and understand engineering drawings, lay-up drawings and work instructions.

Cut carbon-fiber fabric/prepreg according to approved ply patterns.

Identify and maintain correct fiber orientation (0°, ±45°, 90°).

Perform accurate ply stacking according to the laminate schedule.

Ensure proper overlap, joints, edges and ply positioning.

Avoid wrinkles, bridging, contamination and fiber distortion.

Handle carbon fiber, glass fiber and aramid fabrics appropriately.

3. Resin & Matrix Handling

Prepare resin and hardener according to the approved mixing ratio.

Follow specified pot life, viscosity and working-time requirements.

Ensure proper wet-out of reinforcement during wet lay-up.

Monitor resin quantity and minimize excess resin.

Follow applicable safety requirements when handling resins, hardeners and solvents.

4. Vacuum Bagging / Vacuum Infusion

Prepare peel ply, release film, breather/bleeder and vacuum-bagging materials.

Install vacuum lines and sealant tape correctly.

Perform vacuum leak checks before curing.

Monitor vacuum pressure throughout the process.

Carry out resin infusion according to the approved process parameters.

Identify and rectify resin-flow problems, dry spots and air entrapment.

5. Curing

Follow specified curing temperature, pressure and time.

Operate ovens, heating blankets or other curing equipment as applicable.

Monitor and record curing parameters.

Ensure components are not removed from the mold before the required cure cycle is completed.

6. Demolding & Finishing

Safely remove cured components from molds.

Perform trimming, cutting, drilling and edge finishing.

Remove excess material/flash.

Perform dimensional inspection using measuring instruments.

Carry out surface finishing and preparation for subsequent processes.
