Job Description
- Scan items and process payments using cash, credit/debit cards, UPI, and digital wallets via a POS system or cash.
- Generate accurate bills, itemized sales receipts, refund slips, or exchange vouchers, and hand them to customers.
- Post daily sales, purchase entries, and expense vouchers into accounting software (such as Tally Prime or Excel).
- Liaise with vendors, banks, and internal sales or management teams regarding payment follow-ups and discrepancies
- Keep up-to-date cash books, general ledgers, and accounts receivable/payable records
- Monitor daily stock levels through the POS/inventory system to update counts whenever items are sold, returned, or received.
- Transfer stock from the backroom or warehouse to sales floors, front shelves, or display areas.
- Perform regular stocktakes and cycle counts to match physical inventory against system records and identify shrinkage or theft.
- Notify store managers or procurement teams when popular items approach reorder thresholds to prevent stockouts.
