Software Engineer_Backend

Responsibilities  Build Go backend services, APIs, and PostgreSQL data models for financial workflows. Keep transactions correct and make failures observable and recoverable.  Own the Tally desktop-to-cloud integration, including our .NET/C# connector, two-way synchronization, retries, duplicate handling, and reconciliation.  Build Next.js product interfaces, including dashboards and financial tables. Make sensible choices about presentation, filtering, and the work done in the browser versus the backend.  Improve performance across database queries, API calls, and rendering. Reduce redundant requests, choose appropriate caching and batching, and verify improvements with measurements.  Build document-processing APIs and agentic Q&A workflows that turn business data into useful outputs, with validation and guardrails for financial accuracy.  Help adapt the web product into an initial mobile app using a practical cross-platform approach. Reuse suitable parts of the product and handle mobile API and authentication needs.  Own deployment, monitoring, tests for critical paths, and production debugging. Work with users and the team to find problems and improve what you ship. Experience and qualifications  Minimum 1 year of full-time, non-internship software engineering experience, with software you personally shipped and supported in production.  Go is our primary backend language, and hands-on Go experience is highly preferred. Strong production backend experience in Java, Rust, or C++ is also relevant if you can become productive in Go quickly.  Strong problem-solving and data structure fundamentals. You can reason about complexity, debug unfamiliar code, explain tradeoffs, and choose a practical solution.  Experience designing relational data models and APIs. You understand transactions, indexes, asynchronous work, and failure handling; PostgreSQL experience is preferred. FylFlix | Software Engineer | 1  Practical React/Next.js experience and sound product judgment. You can build responsive interfaces and present complex data clearly, including useful loading and error states.  Comfortable with Git and DevOps, including CI/CD, containerization, deployments, and monitoring. Hands-on AWS experience is highly preferred.  .NET/C# experience is a plus. You should be willing to learn it to own the Tally connector.  Experience taking a web product to mobile through React Native, Expo, Capacitor, or a comparable approach is a plus. Willingness to help deliver an initial app is expected.  Evidence of taking initiative: a problem you identified, the decisions you made, and the result you delivered for users. You can work through incomplete requirements and follow through after launch.
