Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Chef/Commis 1 specialising in Indian cuisine for our catering operations and events.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare Indian dishes according to required recipes and quality standards
- Assist in bulk food preparation for catering events
- Maintain consistency in taste, presentation and portioning
- Ensure proper food storage and handling
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the kitchen
- Coordinate with the kitchen team during event production
- Minimise food wastage and maintain portion control
- Follow food safety and kitchen SOPs
Required Skills
- Good knowledge of Indian cuisine
- Experience in bulk/catering food preparation preferred
- Knowledge of gravies, curries, breads, rice and Indian preparations
- Good understanding of food hygiene and safety
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure
- Team player with good kitchen discipline
- Flexible to work according to event schedules
- Attention to taste, quality and presentation
