Barista

We are looking for a skilled, warm and customer-focused Barista who can take ownership of our beverage station and help create a welcoming café experience.

Key Responsibilities

☕ Beverage Preparation

• Prepare espresso-based beverages such as Americano, Cappuccino, Latte, Mocha, Flat White, etc.
• Prepare hot and cold beverages, teas, iced coffees and café specials.
• Maintain consistency in taste, presentation and portioning.
• Operate and maintain espresso machine, grinder and other beverage equipment.
• Understand espresso extraction, grinding, dosing and milk steaming.
• Maintain proper beverage recipes and follow café SOPs.

🧼 Hygiene & Station Management

• Keep the coffee station clean, organised and hygienic throughout the shift.
• Clean and maintain espresso machine, grinder and other equipment.
• Monitor coffee, milk, syrups, tea and other beverage inventory.
• Inform the manager about low-stock items and equipment issues.
• Follow food safety and hygiene standards.

👩‍💼 Customer Experience

• Greet customers warmly and provide knowledgeable recommendations.
• Understand customer preferences and explain beverages when required.
• Handle customer feedback professionally.
• Help create a friendly, premium and welcoming café atmosphere.

📦 Café Operations

• Coordinate with the kitchen and front-of-house team during service.
• Assist with opening and closing procedures.
• Maintain accurate portioning and minimise wastage.
• Support the team during busy periods and help wherever required.

We Are Looking For Someone Who

• Has good practical barista skills, especially espresso and milk-based beverages.
• Understands basic coffee concepts and café equipment.
• Is confident, polite and comfortable interacting with customers.
• Has good communication and teamwork skills.
• Is clean, organised and punctual.
• Can work efficiently during busy hours.
• Has a genuine interest in coffee and hospitality.
• Is willing to learn and follow our recipes and service standards.

Preferred

• 1–3 years of café/barista experience.
• Experience with a commercial espresso machine.
• Basic latte art skills.
• Experience in an independent/specialty café is a plus.
• Knowledge of inventory management and café SOPs is an advantage.
