Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Guest Greeting & Seating: Welcome guests warmly, present menus, explain daily specials, and seat diners or coordinate with the host stand.
- Order Taking & Recommendation: Take accurate food and beverage orders (including alcohol), enter them into the Point of Sale (POS) system, and suggest menu items or wine pairings.
- Allergy & Dietary Communication: Relay special dietary requests, food allergies, or preferences clearly to the kitchen and bar staff.
- Service Delivery: Deliver appetizers, main courses, drinks, and desserts in a timely, organized manner; check back frequently to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Table Maintenance ("Pre-bussing"): Clear finished plates, glassware, and silverware between courses, refill beverages, and maintain a clean table environment.
- Payment Processing: Present bills/checks accurately, handle cash, credit cards, or digital transactions, and process tips or change.
- Closing & Side Work: Clear and reset tables, restock service stations (napkins, condiments, silverware), and complete closing side-work checklists.
