PURCHASE JD 

1. Purchase & Procurement

* Receive and process purchase requirements from Stores. 

* Source and procure engineering materials, components, bought-out items, consumables and services. Procure items such as fabricated components, machined parts, sheet-metal components, fasteners, bearings, pneumatic components, electrical items, sensors, automation components, motors, gearboxes and other machine-building requirements.

* Ensure procurement is completed within required timelines and budgets.

* Obtain quotations from suitable vendors and prepare comparative statements.

* Negotiate prices, payment terms, delivery schedules and other commercial terms.

* Prepare and release Purchase Orders after obtaining necessary approvals.

* Ensure procurement priorities are aligned with production requirements.

2. Vendor Management

* Identify, evaluate and develop new vendors.

* Maintain a reliable vendor base for engineering components and services.

* Develop alternate sources for critical and frequently purchased items.

* Maintain vendor records, quotations, price history and commercial terms.

* Monitor vendor performance in terms of quality, cost and delivery.

* Address vendor-related quality, shortage and delivery issues.

3. Order & Delivery Follow-up

* Track all open Purchase Orders and committed delivery dates.

* Follow up regularly with vendors to ensure timely delivery.

* Escalate delays that may affect production schedules.
