Equity Research Analyst Intern

About the Role

We are seeking a finance-oriented and research-driven Equity Research Analyst Intern with a basic understanding of the stock market and a genuine interest in investments, businesses, and financial analysis. The candidate should be comfortable working with financial data in Advanced Excel and interested in using Python to improve research, data analysis, and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Research listed companies, industries, and broader financial market trends.
• Track stock market movements, sector performance, economic developments, and corporate announcements.
• Collect, organize, and analyze company financial statements, annual reports, and publicly available market data.
• Assist in analyzing revenue, profitability, margins, valuation metrics, and financial ratios.
• Prepare company comparison sheets, financial summaries, research notes, and analytical reports.
• Use Advanced Excel to organize financial data, perform calculations, and build analytical models.
• Explore Python-based tools for financial data analysis, visualization, and automation.
• Support the preparation of presentations and reports for internal research and investment discussions.
• Use reliable public sources to gather information and verify research findings.
• Required SkillsBasic understanding of the stock market, equities, and financial instruments.
• Knowledge of fundamental concepts such as market capitalization, P/E ratio, EPS, revenue, profit, and balance sheets.
• Strong working knowledge of Advanced Excel.
• Basic Python knowledge or a strong willingness to learn Python for financial analysis.
• Good research, numerical, analytical, and written communication skills.
• Genuine interest in financial markets, investing, and business fundamentals.
• Preferred SkillsPursuing or recently completed a degree in Finance, Commerce, Economics, Accounting, or a related field.
• Familiarity with financial statements, company valuation, or fundamental analysis.
• Exposure to financial data platforms, Power BI, or Python libraries such as Pandas and Matplotlib.
• Curiosity about how technology and AI can improve financial research.
