Electrical Technician

Position Job Leader – Electrical / HVAC / Fire Fighting / Mechanical Department: Projects & Maintenance Industry: Electrical Contracting / MEPF / Engineering Services Employment Type: Full-Time Working Hours: 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM Experience: 3+ Years Job Summary We are looking for an experienced and responsible Job Leader – MEPF to lead and supervise technicians and workers at various project and client sites. The Job Leader will be responsible for day-to-day site execution, manpower allocation, work coordination, material planning, quality control, safety compliance, troubleshooting, testing and commissioning of Electrical, HVAC, Fire Fighting and Mechanical works. The candidate should have good practical knowledge of MEPF installation activities and the ability to independently manage site work and coordinate with Site Engineers, Supervisors, Technicians, Vendors and Client Representatives. Educational Qualification Candidates with any of the following qualifications can apply:  ITI Electrician / Wireman  ITI Fitter / Mechanical  ITI Refrigeration & Air Conditioning (RAC)  ITI Fire & Safety or relevant technical course  Electrical / Mechanical Trade Certificate  Diploma in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering  10th / 12th Pass with relevant technical experience Preferred: ITI / Diploma with relevant MEPF site experience. Job Responsibilities 1. Site Supervision & Team Management  Supervise daily MEPF site activities and ensure work is completed as per schedule.  Allocate work to Technicians, Helpers and subcontractor manpower.  Monitor manpower attendance, productivity and work progress.  Guide technicians and workers during installation and maintenance activities.  Coordinate with Site Engineers and Supervisors for daily work planning.  Ensure proper utilization of manpower, tools, equipment and materials.  Resolve basic site-level technical and execution issues.  Maintain discipline and proper coordination among site workers. 2. Electrical Work Supervision  Supervise electrical wiring and installation works.  Monitor concealed and surface wiring activities.  Supervise cable laying, dressing, glanding and termination.  Installation and maintenance of DBs, LT Panels and electrical accessories.  Supervise installation of MCB, MCCB, RCCB and other electrical components.  Monitor cable lug crimping and cable termination.  Supervise earthing and electrical safety-related works.  Assist in electrical fault finding and troubleshooting.  Coordinate testing and commissioning of electrical systems.  Ensure electrical work is carried out as per approved drawings and specifications. Material & Tools Management  Check material received at site against required quantities/specifications.  Inform the Site Engineer/Supervisor about material shortages or requirements.  Ensure proper storage and handling of electrical, HVAC, fire and mechanical materials.  Maintain control over tools and equipment issued to the site team.  Avoid material wastage and ensure proper utilization.  Coordinate with the office/site team for material requirements. Drawing & Technical Coordination  Read and understand basic MEPF drawings and layouts.  Execute work according to approved drawings and specifications.  Coordinate with Site Engineers regarding drawing changes and site requirements.  Identify site discrepancies and report them to the concerned Engineer.  Ensure correct installation levels, routes, dimensions and locations.  Assist engineers during inspections and technical discussions. Quality Control  Ensure workmanship meets company and client quality standards.  Check installation quality before offering work for inspection.  Ensure proper cable termination, pipe installation, supports and equipment installation.  Identify defective or incomplete work and arrange necessary corrections.  Coordinate with Engineers during client inspections.  Ensure proper testing and commissioning procedures are followed. Safety Responsibilities  Ensure all technicians and workers follow site safety procedures.  Ensure mandatory PPE is used at the workplace.  Conduct basic toolbox talks and communicate safety instructions.  Ensure safe use of electrical tools, power tools and equipment.  Maintain proper housekeeping at the work location.  Immediately report unsafe conditions, accidents and near-miss incidents.  Ensure work permits and required safety procedures are followed wherever applicable.  Stop unsafe work and inform the Site Engineer/Supervisor. Daily Site Reporting The Job Leader shall provide regular updates regarding:  Daily manpower deployment  Work completed  Work in progress  Material requirements  Tools and equipment requirements  Site issues and technical problems  Work delays and reasons  Safety-related observations  Testing and commissioning status  Next-day work plan Required Skills  Strong practical knowledge of MEPF installation and maintenance.  Good knowledge of Electrical / HVAC / Fire Fighting / Mechanical works.  Ability to supervise technicians and helpers.  Ability to read basic MEPF drawings.  Ability to identify and resolve basic site-level technical issues.  Good manpower management and coordination skills.  Basic knowledge of testing instruments and tools.  Good communication and reporting skills.  Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.  Strong focus on quality and safety.  Willingness to travel to different project/client sites.
