Service Captain – Seafood Restaurant, Captain – Front Of House

Job DescriptionWe are looking for an experienced and customer-focused Restaurant Captain to join the pre-opening team of our new seafood restaurant in Colaba, Mumbai.

The Restaurant Captain will be responsible for ensuring excellent guest service, managing the assigned section, coordinating with the kitchen and FOH team, and maintaining high service standards throughout the guest experience.

• Key ResponsibilitiesWelcome and engage guests with a warm and professional approach.
• Manage the assigned section and ensure smooth day-to-day service.
• Take accurate food and beverage orders and communicate them clearly to the kitchen and bar.
• Ensure food and beverages are served according to restaurant standards.
• Coordinate closely with the kitchen to ensure timely and accurate orders.
• Guide and support Stewards and other FOH team members.
• Maintain table setup, cleanliness, and overall presentation.
• Handle guest requests and resolve service concerns professionally.
• Provide menu information and assist guests with food and seafood selections.
• Ensure proper billing and payment procedures are followed.
• Follow restaurant SOPs, hygiene standards, and service procedures.
• Assist with opening and closing duties.
• Support pre-opening training, setup, and operational activities.
• Maintain a professional, positive, and guest-focused environment.
• Candidate RequirementsPrevious experience as a Restaurant Captain / Service Captain is preferred.
• Experience in fine dining, premium restaurants, or seafood restaurants will be an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of food and beverage service.
• Good knowledge of guest handling and table service.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Good leadership and team-coordination abilities.
• Well-groomed, punctual, and professional.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
• Willingness to work rotational shifts, weekends, and holidays.
• Candidates should be comfortable being part of a new restaurant pre-opening team.
