Job Description

A picker/packer is an entry-level warehouse role responsible for selecting items from inventory and packing them securely for shipment to customers. This position is critical for efficient order fulfillment, requiring workers to balance speed with accuracy in a fast-paced distribution environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Order Picking: Locating specific products on warehouse shelves using order forms, handheld scanners, or voice-picking systems.
  • Packing & Labeling: Safely packaging items to prevent transit damage, applying shipping labels, and verifying order accuracy.
  • Quality Control: Inspecting goods for defects or damage before they are packed and reported to supervisors.
  • Inventory Management: Assisting with stock replenishment, cycle counts, and maintaining clean, organized work areas.
  • Equipment Operation: Using tools such as pallet jacks, forklifts, and conveyor systems to move materials.
