Warehouse Manager

Core Roles & Responsibilities

1. Operational Oversight Direct day-to-day warehouse activities: receiving, storage, picking, packing, shipping, and returns.

• Ensure on-time delivery (OTD) and order accuracy targets are consistently met.
• Monitor KPIs such as dock-to-stock time, picks per hour, and labor productivity.

2. Inventory Management Maintain 99%+ inventory accuracy through cycle counts, audits, and reconciliation with ERP/WMS systems.

• Reduce shrinkage and resolve discrepancies with root-cause analysis.

3. Team Leadership Lead and coach supervisors and warehouse associates.

• Schedule shifts, assign tasks, and manage labor demand based on seasonal patterns.
• Build morale and reduce turnover through effective communication and training.

4. Safety & Compliance Enforce OSHA and local safety regulations.

• Conduct safety training, incident investigations, and corrective actions.
• Maintain a safe work environment to prevent workplace hazards.

5. Process & Layout Optimization Design efficient warehouse layouts, slotting, and space utilization.

• Implement Lean, Kaizen, and Six Sigma principles to reduce waste and improve throughput.

6. Technology & Systems Implement and maintain Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) integrated with ERP platforms (SAP, Oracle, Manhattan).

• Use automation tools like barcode scanners and robotics for accuracy and speed.

7. Budget & Reporting Own the warehouse operating budget, tracking labor hours, overtime, and supply costs.

• Provide weekly/monthly performance dashboards to senior leadership.
