Job Description – Head of Quality

Location: Bantala, Kolkata – Onsite

Reporting To: CEO

Experience: 8–10 Years

CTC: Up to 12 LPA

Industry: Garments / Apparel – Mandatory

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Head of Quality to lead the end-to-end quality function across our garment manufacturing and job-work ecosystem. The role will be responsible for establishing strong quality standards, ensuring production compliance, managing job-work quality, and driving consistent product quality across the business.

The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience in the garment/apparel industry, with a deep understanding of ethnic wear, garment construction, finishing, workmanship, and B2B quality requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the overall Quality function across production, job work, and vendor operations.
• Define and implement quality standards, inspection processes, SOPs, and quality checkpoints.
• Manage job-work/B2B quality from pre-production to final dispatch.
• Conduct and monitor inline, mid-line, and final inspections to ensure quality compliance.
• Work closely with production, merchandising, sourcing, and vendors to identify and resolve quality issues.
• Drive root-cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA) for recurring quality issues.
• Establish vendor/job-worker quality benchmarks and continuously monitor performance.
• Ensure compliance with approved samples, measurements, workmanship, construction, finishing, and packing standards.
• Identify recurring defects and implement preventive measures to reduce rejection, alteration, and rework.
• Build and maintain quality MIS, vendor quality reports, rejection reports, and improvement dashboards.
• Develop and strengthen the quality team structure, processes, and accountability.
• Conduct regular vendor/job-worker audits and quality reviews.
• Ensure quality standards are consistently maintained across ethnic-wear products.

Must-Have Requirements

• 8–10 years of relevant experience in the Garments/Apparel industry – Non-Negotiable.
• Strong experience in garment manufacturing and job-work quality management.
• Prior experience managing B2B/vendor/job-work quality is mandatory.
• Strong understanding of Indian ethnic wear, garment construction, finishing, and workmanship.
• Hands-on knowledge of AQL, inline inspection, final inspection, defect analysis, and quality control systems.
• Experience in managing and developing quality teams.
• Strong vendor management and problem-solving capabilities.
• Ability to work closely with senior leadership and take ownership of quality outcomes.
• Willingness to work onsite at Bantala, Kolkata.

Preferred Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate should be a hands-on Quality Leader who can independently build and strengthen the quality function rather than only perform inspection activities. Candidates with strong exposure to ethnic wear + job-work/vendor management + B2B quality will be strongly preferred.
