Role SummaryWe are looking for a result-oriented Business Development Manager – Credit Cards to drive customer acquisition, business growth, and market expansion for the credit-card portfolio.
The role will be responsible for developing new business through direct sales, corporate tie-ups, channel partners, referrals, and other acquisition channels. The candidate will manage the complete sales funnel—from lead generation and customer onboarding to card activation and spend enhancement—while ensuring adherence to KYC, regulatory, and internal compliance requirements.
- Key Responsibilities1. Business Development & Customer AcquisitionDrive new customer acquisition for credit-card products through assigned channels and markets.
- Generate leads through corporate visits, field sales, referrals, networking, cold calling, events, and market activations.
- Identify new markets, customer segments, and business opportunities for credit-card acquisition.
- Build and maintain a strong sales pipeline to consistently achieve monthly and annual targets.
- Present credit-card products, features, rewards, fees, benefits, and eligibility criteria to prospective customers.
- 2. Corporate & Partnership DevelopmentIdentify and establish relationships with corporates, institutions, merchants, associations, and other potential partners.
- Develop corporate tie-ups for employee/customer credit-card acquisition programs.
- Identify and onboard suitable channel partners, DSAs, agencies, and other acquisition partners where applicable.
- Negotiate commercial terms and develop mutually beneficial business relationships.
- Manage partner performance and ensure agreed acquisition and service levels are achieved.
- 3. Sales Target & Performance ManagementAchieve assigned monthly, quarterly, and annual card acquisition targets.
- Monitor the complete sales funnel, including leads, applications, approvals, card issuance, activation, and spends.
- Track key performance indicators such as acquisition volume, approval rate, activation rate, productivity, and cost of acquisition.
- Prepare regular sales reports, market updates, and pipeline reviews for management.
- 4. Customer Relationship ManagementBuild strong relationships with existing and prospective customers.
- Ensure a smooth customer onboarding experience.
- Drive card activation and encourage customers to increase card usage and spends.
- Identify cross-selling and upselling opportunities where appropriate.
- Address customer queries and coordinate with internal teams for timely resolution.
- 5. Market & Competitor IntelligenceConduct regular market mapping and identify potential customer clusters and acquisition opportunities.
- Monitor competitor credit-card products, rewards, pricing, offers, campaigns, and acquisition strategies.
- Provide market feedback to product, marketing, and sales teams to improve acquisition strategies.
- 6. Compliance & Process ManagementEnsure all customer acquisition activities comply with KYC, regulatory, risk, and internal policies.
- Ensure accurate collection and submission of customer documentation.
- Maintain high sourcing quality and minimize fraudulent, incomplete, or mis-sold applications.
- Coordinate with credit, operations, risk, and fulfillment teams to resolve application-related issues.
- 7. Cross-Functional CoordinationWork closely with Marketing, Product, Credit, Risk, Operations, Customer Service, and Technology teams.
- Support the execution of promotional campaigns and acquisition initiatives.
- Provide feedback on customer needs, product positioning, and market opportunities.

Candidate ProfileEducation
- Graduate degree in any discipline.
- MBA/PGDM in Sales, Marketing, Finance, or Business Management is preferred.
Experience
- 2–6 years of experience in credit-card sales, banking, BFSI, fintech, consumer lending, payments, or financial-product sales.
- Experience in corporate sales, channel sales, partnerships, or direct customer acquisition will be an advantage.
