As we expand our sales and service operations across India, we are seeking a skilled, hands-on Field Service Technician to provide technical support and maintenance services to customers nationwide.

The ideal candidate will be mechanically inclined, customer-focused, comfortable with frequent travel, and capable of independently troubleshooting and repairing industrial equipment.

Key Responsibilities1. Equipment Servicing & Repair

• Perform on-site installation, inspection, servicing, troubleshooting, and repair of PPT industrial tools and equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment failures and identify appropriate corrective actions.
• Service industrial steel strapping tensioners, sealers, combination tools, cutters, and other related equipment.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance, cleaning, lubrication, calibration where applicable, and replacement of worn components.
• Test repaired equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation.
• Minimize customer equipment downtime through efficient diagnosis and repair.

2. Customer Visits & Nationwide Technical Support

• Travel to customer factories, steel plants, manufacturing facilities, warehouses, and industrial sites throughout India.
• Respond to customer service requests and coordinate visits with PPT's sales and service teams.
• Conduct equipment demonstrations, commissioning, and operator training.
• Provide customers with recommendations for proper equipment operation, maintenance, and safety.
• Maintain professional relationships with maintenance teams, plant engineers, and purchasing departments.

3. Annual Maintenance Contracts (AMC)

• Execute scheduled preventive maintenance visits under customer AMC agreements.
• Inspect equipment and recommend preventive maintenance or component replacement to avoid breakdowns.
• Identify opportunities to introduce AMC packages to customers without existing service agreements.
• Support renewals of service agreements through reliable service and customer engagement.
• Coordinate AMC service documentation and customer feedback with the service department.

4. Spare Parts & Service Revenue

• Identify worn or damaged components requiring replacement.
• Recommend genuine PPT spare parts and repair kits.
• Prepare technical recommendations and spare parts requirements for quotations.
• Maintain records of parts used and equipment repaired.
• Identify opportunities for additional service business, equipment replacement, and product upgrades.
• Coordinate with the sales department to communicate new business opportunities discovered during customer visits.

5. Service Documentation & Reporting

• Prepare service reports for each customer visit, documenting equipment condition, faults identified, repairs performed, and spare parts required.
• Maintain accurate service histories and pending repair records.
• Provide regular updates to the Service Manager.
• Track customer complaints and follow up until resolution.
• Report recurring equipment failures to PPT's engineering and quality teams to support continuous product improvement.
• Technical Skills RequiredPractical experience with pneumatic or hydraulic equipment, industrial hand tools, or packaging machinery.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills.
• Knowledge of pneumatic systems, air pressure regulation, valves, seals, cylinders, and related components.
• Familiarity with hydraulic pumps, hoses, seals, and hydraulic troubleshooting is preferred.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings, equipment manuals, and basic technical diagrams.
• Ability to use common workshop tools, measuring instruments, and diagnostic equipment.
• Basic computer skills for preparing service reports and communicating with the head office.

Candidate ProfileWe are looking for an individual who:

• Has 2–5 years of experience in industrial equipment servicing, mechanical maintenance, or field technical support.
• Is comfortable working independently at customer industrial sites.
• Is willing to travel extensively throughout India, including occasional overnight stays.
• Has strong problem-solving abilities and a customer-service mindset.
• Can communicate effectively in Hindi and/or English. Regional language proficiency is an advantage.
• Can maintain professional relationships with industrial customers.
• Holds a valid driving licence, preferred.
• Demonstrates strong safety awareness and follows site safety requirements.

Experience servicing strapping tools, pneumatic tools, hydraulic cutters, or industrial packaging equipment is especially desirable.

• Work Location & TravelCandidates may be based anywhere in India.
• This is a travel-intensive field service role, not a work-from-home position.
• The technician will visit customer facilities in multiple states based on service requirements.
