Job Overview

We are looking for a skilled and passionate Demi Chef de Partie – Pastry & Bakery to join our production team. The ideal candidate should have a strong foundation in baking and pastry techniques, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to maintain consistency and quality in a fast-paced production environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Assist in the daily production of breads, buns, sourdough, focaccia, croissants, and other bakery products.

- Prepare pastries, cakes, desserts, cookies, and other patisserie items as per established recipes and standards.

- Execute mixing, kneading, fermentation, proofing, lamination, shaping, baking, and finishing techniques.

- Maintain consistency in product quality, texture, flavour, appearance, and portion sizes.

- Follow recipes accurately and ensure proper weighing and scaling of ingredients.

- Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, sanitation, and kitchen organisation.

- Monitor ingredient usage, minimise wastage, and follow proper storage and labelling procedures.

- Ensure equipment is handled correctly and the workstation is clean and organised.

- Assist with production planning, mise en place, stock rotation, and inventory management.

- Work closely with the Head Chef and kitchen team to meet daily production requirements and deadlines.

- Follow standard operating procedures and contribute to improving production efficiency and product quality.

Requirements

- 1–3 years of relevant experience in a professional bakery, pastry kitchen, or hotel.

- Good understanding of baking fundamentals, pastry techniques, and ingredient functionality.

- Practical knowledge of dough handling, fermentation, lamination, and oven operations.

- Ability to follow recipes, maintain consistency, and work with precision.

- Strong time-management, organisational, and teamwork skills.

- Willingness to learn, take responsibility, and work in a high-quality production environment.

- A culinary or bakery qualification is preferred but not mandatory for candidates with relevant practical experience.
