Transcriptionist

About the Role: We build speech datasets used to train voice AI and speech recognition systems. You will transcribe and annotate audio in your native language, following a project style guide. Transcripts are used as machine-learning ground truth, so accuracy matters more than speed.

Languages:

Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Bengali, Assamese, Gujarati, Punjabi, Odia, Urdu

Responsibilities :

• Transcribe audio verbatim in the target language and script, as per the style guide.
• Add segment-level timestamps with accurate speech boundaries.
• Tag non-speech events — silence, laughter, crosstalk, music, noise, unintelligible speech.
• Handle code-mixing (e.g. Telugu–English) as specified.
• Flag poor-quality, wrong-language or duplicate files instead of guessing.
• Post-edit machine-generated transcripts where required.
• Meet turnaround times and keep all audio confidential.

Requirements:

• Native or near-native fluency in the target language and its script.
• Working English to read guidelines and transcribe
• 18+ years of age
• Able to type in the target language (Unicode keyboard or transliteration tool).
• Strong listening skills and attention to detail.
• Laptop/desktop, wired headphones, stable internet. No mobile-only setups.

Pay & Incentives

• ₹600 – ₹3,000 per hour of audio annotated — rate confirmed in writing before each project, based on language, audio complexity and annotation depth.Incentives over and above the base rate:Quality — bonus and upper-band rates for consistently clearing QC thresholds.
• Project demand — extra payouts for urgent turnaround, high-volume batches, difficult audio, and low-resource languages.
• Referral and retention — for long-term annotators and successful referrals.
