Graduate Engineer Trainee

About the Program

The GET Program is a hands-on, rotational traineeship designed to convert fresh electrical engineering graduates into production-ready professionals. Trainees are hired into one of three tracks — Quality Assurance, Manufacturing, or Estimation — with cross-exposure to the others so that every engineer understands how a product moves from a customer specification to a tested, dispatched unit.

Over the traineeship you will work alongside senior engineers on live products, learn our processes and standards, and take on increasing ownership. Strong performers are confirmed into permanent engineering roles at the end of the program.

Tracks & Responsibilities

1. Quality Assurance (QA)Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspection of components, sub-assemblies, and finished products.

• Conduct electrical and functional testing of panels and power electronic assemblies (insulation resistance, high-voltage/dielectric, functional, and performance tests).
• Maintain inspection records, test reports, and traceability documentation.
• Support root-cause analysis of defects and drive corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
• Assist in calibration of test instruments and upkeep of quality systems (ISO / IS / IEC standards).

2. Manufacturing / ProductionSupport assembly and wiring of control panels, filters, and power electronic units as per drawings and BOM.

• Read and interpret electrical schematics, GA drawings, and wiring diagrams.
• Assist in production planning, process control, and shop-floor coordination.
• Identify and implement process improvements to reduce cycle time, rework, and waste.
• Ensure adherence to workmanship, safety, and 5S standards on the floor.

3. EstimationPrepare bills of material (BOM) and cost estimates from customer specifications, tender documents, and single-line diagrams.

• Interpret technical requirements and translate them into component selection and pricing.
• Coordinate with design, procurement, and sales to build accurate techno-commercial proposals.
• Maintain and update costing databases and vendor rate references.
• Support value engineering to optimize cost without compromising specification.

Required Electrical Engineering Knowledge

Candidates across all tracks are expected to have a strong grasp of core electrical engineering fundamentals, including:

• Power systems basics — single- and three-phase systems, voltage/current/power relationships, power factor and reactive power.
• Power quality concepts — harmonics, THD, load balancing, power factor correction, and compensation techniques (an advantage given our product line).
• Power electronics — converters, inverters, IGBTs, and switching fundamentals.
• Electrical measurements — use of multimeters, clamp meters, power analyzers, and understanding of electrical parameters.
• Reading electrical drawings — schematics, single-line diagrams, wiring and GA drawings.
• Electrical safety and standards — awareness of relevant IS/IEC standards and safe working practices.

Eligibility

• Qualification: B.E. / B.Tech / Diploma in Electrical, Electrical & Electronics (EEE), or a closely related discipline.
• Batch: Recent graduates (final-year students awaiting results may apply).
• Academics: Consistent academic record (typically 60% and above / equivalent CGPA).
• Skills: Solid electrical fundamentals, willingness to learn on the shop floor, basic computer literacy (MS Office); familiarity with AutoCAD/electrical drawing tools is a plus.
• Attributes: Strong analytical and problem-solving ability, attention to detail, teamwork, and a hands-on attitude.
