Quality Engineer

We are looking for an experienced Quality Engineer – BIW Welding (In-Process Quality) to ensure quality and process compliance in BIW welding operations.

🔹 Key Responsibilities

• Monitor BIW welding processes and in-process quality

• Inspect Spot Welding, MIG Welding & Projection Welding

• Monitor weld current, weld time, electrode force, nugget size & welding sequence

• Identify welding defects such as missing weld, weak weld, spatter, crack, porosity, burn-through & deformation

• Conduct first-off/last-off and regular line inspections

• Follow PFMEA, Control Plan, SOP & Work Instructions

• Analyze quality issues using 7 QC Tools, 5 Why, Fishbone, Pareto & 8D

• Coordinate with Production, Maintenance, Tool & Die and Engineering teams

• Implement Corrective & Preventive Actions (CAPA)

• Monitor weld gun, electrode tip, alignment and fixture conditions

• Support Process Audit, Product Audit, LPA & Customer Audit

• Monitor PPM, rejection, rework, Poka-Yoke & FPY

• Coordinate with PDI team to ensure final BIW quality

🔹 Required Skills

✅ Strong knowledge of BIW Welding & Automotive Body Construction

✅ Knowledge of Spot Welding / MIG / Projection Welding

✅ PFMEA, Control Plan & 8D

✅ Knowledge of GD&T, Engineering Drawings & Welding Symbols

✅ Quality inspection tools & gauges

✅ Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

✅ Good communication and teamwork

Qualification

Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in:

Mechanical / Automobile / Production / Manufacturing Engineering
