Job SummaryThe Pressman / Guest Laundry Operator will be responsible for handling guest garments and laundry operations, including receiving, sorting, washing, drying, stain treatment, pressing, folding, packing, and timely delivery of guest laundry. The role requires careful handling of guest belongings, maintaining quality standards, and operating laundry and pressing equipment safely and efficiently.

• Key ResponsibilitiesReceive and verify guest laundry along with the laundry list/count.
• Sort garments based on colour, fabric, washing requirements, and care instructions.
• Inspect garments for existing stains, damages, missing buttons, tears, or other discrepancies before processing.
• Operate washing machines, dryers, steam irons, pressing machines, and other laundry equipment.
• Select appropriate washing, drying, and pressing methods based on fabric and garment requirements.
• Perform stain treatment using approved chemicals and procedures.
• Press and finish guest garments, uniforms, linen, and other assigned laundry items.
• Ensure garments are wrinkle-free, properly folded, packed, labelled, and ready for delivery.
• Follow garment care labels and approved laundry SOPs.
• Ensure guest laundry is processed and delivered within the defined turnaround time.
• Maintain accurate records of laundry received, processed, packed, and dispatched.
• Immediately report any lost, damaged, stained, or defective garment to the Laundry Supervisor/Manager.
• Handle guest garments and personal belongings with utmost care and confidentiality.
• Ensure proper segregation of guest laundry, hotel linen, uniforms, and other laundry.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the laundry and pressing area.
• Clean and maintain laundry and pressing equipment as per SOP.
• Follow proper chemical handling procedures and use PPE wherever required.
• Follow all safety procedures related to steam, heat, electricity, chemicals, and machinery.
• Minimize garment damage, rework, wastage, and processing errors.
• Coordinate with Housekeeping/Front Office for collection and delivery of guest laundry.
• Support other laundry activities as assigned by the Laundry Manager/Supervisor.
• Follow company policies, SOPs, grooming standards, attendance requirements, and workplace discipline.
• Key Skills & CompetenciesKnowledge of washing, drying, ironing, pressing, and garment finishing.
• Basic knowledge of different fabrics and garment-care requirements.
• Knowledge of stain identification and treatment.
• Ability to operate laundry and pressing equipment.
• Attention to detail and quality consciousness.
• Good time management and ability to meet turnaround timelines.
• Careful handling of guest belongings.
• Physical stamina and ability to stand for extended periods.
• Teamwork and basic communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced laundry environment.

Qualification & ExperienceEducation: Minimum 8th/10th standard preferred.

Experience: 1–3 years of experience in hotel laundry, guest laundry, commercial laundry, garment care, or similar operations preferred.
