Job Summary

We are looking for a Credit Analyst to evaluate loan applications and assess the creditworthiness of customers applying for short-term/payday loans. The candidate will review customer information, credit bureau reports, income details and repayment capacity to make accurate and timely credit decisions as per company policy.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and assess customer loan applications for short-term/payday loans.
• Verify customer details, employment/income information and supporting documents.
• Analyse CIBIL/Experian/Equifax/CRIF credit bureau reports.
• Check credit history, existing loans, repayment behaviour, overdue accounts and recent enquiries.
• Assess the customer's repayment capacity and existing financial obligations.
• Review bank statements and income documents, where required.
• Approve, reject or refer applications based on the company's credit policy and eligibility criteria.
• Identify customers with high credit risk, over-leverage, poor repayment history or suspicious information.
• Escalate unusual or high-risk cases to the Credit Manager.
• Maintain accurate records of credit decisions and supporting documents.
• Ensure all applications are processed within the defined turnaround time.
• Coordinate with Operations, Sales, Verification, Collections and Risk teams when required.
• Follow company credit policies, KYC requirements and applicable lending guidelines.

Required Skills

• Basic understanding of credit analysis and consumer lending.
• Good knowledge of credit bureau reports.
• Understanding of income, expenses, existing liabilities and repayment capacity.
• Good analytical and numerical skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to identify discrepancies and potential credit risks.
• Good knowledge of MS Excel.
• Good communication and decision-making skills.
• Ability to work in a target-driven and high-volume environment.

Qualification

• 1–3 years of experience in credit underwriting, loan processing, NBFC, FinTech, personal loans, payday loans or consumer finance preferred.
