Category Manager

Role Overview 

We are looking for a Category Manager - Retail to own category performance, assortment, and in-store 

execution across our store network. 

This role sits at the intersection of merchandising, inventory planning, and store execution, and requires 

close coordination with stores, the DC, and brand/vendor partners. 

Key Responsibilities 

Category & Assortment Management 

•Own the assortment plan for assigned categories across stores, based on customer demand, local 

trends, and store-level performance. 

•Identify assortment gaps and work with sourcing/brand teams to plug them. 

•Plan and execute category launches, seasonal ranges, and promotions in-store. 

Performance & Inventory 

•Track category-level sales, margins, and inventory health (stock-outs, overstocks, wastage) 

across stores. 

•Work with the DC and store teams to ensure the right product availability at the right stores. 

•Analyse category performance and recommend pricing, promotion, and assortment corrections. 

Vendor & Stakeholder Coordination 

•Coordinate with brand/vendor partners on fill rates, new launches, and in-store visibility. 

•Work closely with store operations, VM/CX, and marketing teams for category execution in-store. 

What We Are Looking For 

•2-4 years of experience in category management, retail merchandising, or buying in a 

retail/D2C/FMCG environment. 

•Good understanding of assortment planning, inventory management, and in-store execution. 

•Strong analytical skills with comfort in Excel/Google Sheets for performance tracking. 

•Good coordination and communication skills to work across stores, DC, and vendor teams. 

•Ability to work independently and take ownership of category outcomes.
