Job Description
- 1. Inventory & Store OperationsManage raw materials, bought-out items, WIP, and finished goods
- Ensure proper receipt, storage, identification, and issuing of materials
- Maintain bin locations, FIFO / FEFO, and shelf-life control
- Prevent material loss, damage, or misplacement
- 2. Material Receipt & Inspection CoordinationReceive materials against PO / Challan / Invoice
- Verify quantity, part number, batch/serial number
- Coordinate with QA for incoming inspection (IQC)
- Ensure GRN entry only after inspection clearance
- 3. Issue to Production & TraceabilityIssue materials to production as per:
- Approved BOM
- Work Order / Job Card
- Maintain batch / lot / serial traceability
- Control excess issue and return to store
- 4. ERP / System ManagementMaintain accurate inventory records in ERP (Odoo / SAP / etc.)
- Perform:
- GRN entries
- Material Issue & Return entries
- Stock adjustments (with approval)
- Ensure system stock = physical stock
- 5. Stock Audits & ControlConduct:
- Daily cycle counts
- Monthly physical stock verification
- Investigate and report shortage / excess / non-moving inventory
- Support internal and external audits
- 6. Compliance & DocumentationMaintain:
- Store registers
- Inspection records
- Material traceability documents
- Ensure compliance with:
- ISO / QA requirements
- Safety and handling norms
- Defence / customer audit standards (if applicable)
- 7. Coordination & CommunicationCoordinate with:
- Procurement for material status
- Production for material planning
- QA for inspection clearance
- Finance for inventory reconciliation
- Provide material availability status to operations
- 8. Housekeeping & SafetyMaintain 5S discipline in stores
- Ensure safe handling of:
- Heavy items
- Hazardous / sensitive materials
- Enforce access control and security of stores
