Job Description
Job Title: EHS Officer (Environment, Health & Safety)
Experience: 2–3 Years
Industry Preference: Pharmaceutical / Chemical Manufacturing
Location: Dombivali (East)
Job Summary
Orex Pharma Pvt. Ltd. is seeking a proactive and knowledgeable EHS Officer to ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations across our manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in a pharmaceutical or chemical company, strong chemical and fire safety knowledge, and formal certification in industrial safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement, monitor, and continuously improve EHS policies, procedures, and programs.
- Ensure compliance with statutory EHS regulations (Factory Act, SPCB, Fire Safety, etc.).
- Conduct risk assessments, hazard identification (HIRA), and safety audits.
- Monitor handling, storage, and disposal of chemicals and hazardous materials.
- Ensure implementation of fire safety systems, emergency preparedness, and mock drills.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses; prepare reports and recommend corrective actions.
- Conduct safety training and toolbox talks for employees and contractors.
- Coordinate with external agencies, auditors, and government authorities during inspections.
- Maintain EHS documentation, records, and statutory registers.
- Promote a strong safety culture across the organization.
Qualifications
- Graduate degree (Science / Engineering or relevant discipline).
- Certification/Diploma in Industrial Safety (mandatory).
- Sound knowledge of fire safety systems, firefighting equipment, and emergency response.
Skills & Competencies
- Knowledge of EHS laws, standards, and best practices.
- Good communication and training skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and coordinate with cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency in documentation and reporting.
Preferred / Added Advantage
- Prior experience in pharma or chemical manufacturing environments.
Experience in handling regulatory audits and compliance inspections.
