VMC OPERATOR – PREM STONEX

Department: Production / CNC

Location: Prem Stonex Manufacturing Unit, Derabassi

Position: VMC Operator

Reporting To: Production Manager / Owner

About the Role

We are looking for a skilled and responsible VMC Operator to operate and manage VMC/CNC machinery used for manufacturing and finishing granite, nano slabs, countertops, wash basins, kitchen components and other stone products.

The operator will be responsible for accurate machine operation, tool selection, job setup, quality control and routine machine maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

- Operate VMC/CNC machines safely and efficiently as per production requirements.

- Read and understand technical drawings, dimensions and CNC programs.

- Set up jobs, fixtures, tools and workpieces correctly before machining.

- Load, check and execute CNC programs.

- Select appropriate cutting, drilling, milling and finishing tools.

- Maintain accurate dimensions and profiles as per drawings.

- Perform machining operations such as:

 - Cutting and profiling

 - Drilling

 - Grooving

 - Edge profiling

 - Moulding

 - Sink and basin work

 - Countertop and kitchen component machining

- Check finished products using measuring instruments and templates.

- Identify machining defects and make necessary corrections in machine settings/programs.

- Monitor tool wear and replace tools when required.

- Maintain proper machine speed, feed and cutting parameters.

- Keep the machine, tools and work area clean and organized.

- Perform routine lubrication, cleaning and basic preventive maintenance.

- Report machine faults, abnormal noise, vibration or tool problems immediately.

- Minimize material wastage and ensure proper utilization of slabs/stone material.

- Follow all safety procedures while operating machinery.

- Coordinate with the production and finishing teams to complete jobs on time.

- Maintain daily production and job records.

- Ensure finished products meet the required quality standards before dispatch to the next stage.

Required Skills

- Previous experience as a VMC/CNC Operator, preferably in stone, granite, marble, quartz, nano or similar manufacturing.

- Good knowledge of CNC/VMC machine operation.

- Ability to understand technical drawings and measurements.

- Basic knowledge of CNC programming and editing.

- Knowledge of cutting tools, tool offsets, speeds and feeds.

- Ability to use measuring instruments such as vernier calipers and measuring tapes.

- Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

- Ability to work independently and responsibly.

- Strong attention to accuracy and finishing quality.

Preferred Experience

5 years of relevant VMC/CNC operating experience preferred.
