Position: Vendor Manager – Jewellery Procurement

Department: Purchase / Procurement

Experience: Minimum 3 Years

Industry Preference: Jewellery / Gold & Precious Metals

Location: Coimbatore

Travel Requirement: Willingness to travel across South India and other business locations as required

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Vendor Manager with a strong background in the Purchasing / Procurement function of leading jewellery corporates. The ideal candidate should have proven experience in vendor development, supplier management, procurement coordination, negotiation and maintaining long-term relationships with jewellery industry suppliers.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage existing vendor relationships and ensure consistent quality, pricing and timely delivery.
• Handle purchasing activities and coordinate with vendors from enquiry to final delivery.
• Develop and maintain a strong vendor network across South India.
• Conduct regular vendor visits and market surveys to identify new suppliers and competitive pricing.
• Monitor vendor performance based on quality, cost, delivery and service standards.
• Coordinate with internal Purchase, Sales, Logistics, Accounts and Management teams.
• Verify quotations, purchase requirements, invoices and other vendor-related documentation.
• Resolve vendor-related issues, discrepancies, delays and quality concerns.
• Maintain updated vendor databases, price records and procurement reports.
• Ensure vendors comply with company policies, quality standards and commercial requirements.
• Prepare regular reports on vendor performance, procurement status and cost analysis.

Required Skills

• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in Purchasing / Procurement.
• Strong preference for candidates who have worked with leading jewellery companies / jewellery corporates.
• Good knowledge of jewellery industry suppliers, products and procurement practices.
• Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Good knowledge of MS Excel, Google Sheets and basic reporting.
• Willingness to travel frequently for vendor meetings and market visits.

Preferred Candidate Profile

• Experience in Jewellery Purchase / Procurement / Vendor Management.
• Candidates currently working or previously employed in reputed jewellery corporates will be preferred.
• Strong vendor network and market knowledge will be an added advantage.
