HMC MACHINE OPERATOR

Core Requirements & Qualifications

​Mandatory Specialized Experience: Minimum 2 to 3 years of exclusive hands-on experience in Horizontal Machining Center (HMC) operations. (Prior experience with other CNC or VMC equipment is secondary).

​Technical Proficiency: Comprehensive understanding of HMC machine mechanics, kinematics, and operational workflows.

​Primary Technical Responsibilities

​Blueprint & Drawing Interpretation: Ability to independently read, analyze, and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and component specifications.

​Job Setup & Re-setting: Full capability to perform independent component setups, fixture alignment, and reset operations for new production runs.

​Tool Selection & Management: Expertise in selecting appropriate tooling, verifying tool suitability for specific material components, and managing tool loading/assembly.

​In-Process Precision Inspection: High proficiency in using precision measuring instruments to inspect components and maintain strict dimensional accuracy.

​Operational Expectations & Work Ethic

​Precision & Zero-Defect Mindset: Strict adherence to tight machining tolerances with zero tolerance for carelessness, rework, or avoidable scrap.

​Punctuality & Shift Discipline: Absolute commitment to exact shift start/end times, production schedules, and overall shop-floor discipline.

​Autonomous Execution: Ability to run operations self-sufficiently while maintaining clean and structured workstation practices.

​Essential Industry & Shop-Floor Standards

​Basic Control Panel Operations: Ability to execute minor program edits, coordinate system adjustments, and offsets directly at the machine control.

​Workplace Organization & Safety: Mandatory adherence to 5S housekeeping standards, proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and compliance with industrial safety protocols.

​Material & Equipment Handling: Safe and proficient handling of raw castings, forgings, and heavy workpieces using hoists and overhead cranes.
