Education Required: No specific degree or certificate needed. Should be able to read and understand instructions in English.

Shift Timing: 9:30 AM to 6:00 PM, Day Shift

Job Description: Topline Press makes cartons, leaflets and labels for pharma companies, and food packaging for F&B companies, based in Chennai. Since our products go on medicines and food, quality checking at every step is very important; there is no room for mistakes.

We are looking for a QC/QA Head to check and approve quality at every stage of production, starting from raw material coming in, to the finished carton going out for dispatch. This is a hands-on job on the factory floor, checking real jobs every day, not a desk-only role.

We use a computer system (not paper registers) to record all quality checks, so basic comfort with using a computer or tablet screen is needed. Full training on our system will be given.

• Key Responsibilities: Check incoming raw material batches and reject anything that doesn't meet quality standards
• Approve machine and work area cleanliness before a new print job starts
• Check and approve the first printed sheets before the machine runs the full order
• Do sample-based quality checks (AQL) on printed sheets and sort defects as minor, major, or critical
• Do a final check on finished cartons before packing starts
• Check that printed quantities and rejected/waste quantities match up correctly before packing
• Give final quality approval before goods are sent out for dispatch; this is the last check before the customer receives it
• Look into customer complaints, find out what went wrong, and fix the process so it doesn't repeat
• Make sure measuring instruments used for checking are tested and calibrated on time
• Keep all quality records updated daily in our computer system
• Guide and train machine operators on quality dos and don'ts
• Skills Required: Knowledge of AQL sampling and how to classify defects (minor/major / critical)
• Experience checking quality in printing, packaging, folding cartons, or similar (pharma or food packaging experience both welcome)
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet for daily data entry
• Good attention to detail
