Food And Beverage Assistant

Job Purpose

To provide courteous, professional, and efficient food and beverage service to hotel guests while maintaining the highest standards of hospitality, cleanliness, grooming, and guest satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Welcome and greet guests warmly and professionally.
• Escort guests to their tables and present menus.
• Explain menu items, daily specials, ingredients, and available food and beverage options.
• Take accurate food and beverage orders and communicate them clearly to the kitchen and bar.
• Serve food and beverages according to the hotel's standard operating procedures and sequence of service.
• Ensure timely and attentive service throughout the guest's dining experience.
• Check regularly with guests to understand and fulfil their requirements.
• Handle guest requests, feedback, and complaints professionally and report unresolved issues to the supervisor.
• Set up, clean, and reset tables according to hotel standards.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the restaurant, service areas, side stations, crockery, cutlery, and glassware.
• Assist with buffet setup, banquets, special events, and other F&B operations when required.
• Prepare the restaurant and service area before opening and complete closing duties after service.
• Process guest bills and handle cash, card, or room-charge payments as per hotel procedures.
• Maintain proper knowledge of food and beverage products and recommend suitable items to guests.
• Support upselling and cross-selling of food and beverage products.
• Coordinate effectively with kitchen, stewarding, housekeeping, front office, and other departments when required.
• Follow food safety, hygiene, fire safety, and hotel health and safety standards.
• Maintain proper grooming, personal hygiene, punctuality, and professional conduct at all times.
• Attend daily briefings and follow instructions from supervisors and senior management.
• Minimize wastage and handle hotel equipment, crockery, cutlery, and operating supplies carefully.
• Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor or F&B management.

Qualification & Experience

• 10th / 12th pass; Diploma or Degree in Hotel Management is preferred.
• Freshers may be considered for entry-level positions.
• Previous experience in a hotel, restaurant, resort, or fine-dining operation is an advantage.
• Good command of English and knowledge of additional languages is an advantage.
• Working ConditionsWillingness to work in shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
• Ability to stand and move for extended periods.
• Flexibility to work across restaurant, banquet, buffet, room service, or other F&B outlets as required.
