• Key ResponsibilitiesUnderstand customer inspection and automation requirements.
• Conduct application studies at customer sites.
• Select suitable:
• Machine vision cameras
• Lenses
• Lighting
• Sensors
• Controllers
• Borescopes / inspection equipment
• Configure and commission machine-vision systems.
• Develop basic vision applications for:
• Presence / absence inspection
• Defect detection
• Position/orientation checking
• Measurement
• OCR / OCV
• Barcode / QR code reading
• Colour inspection
• Pattern matching
• Pass / Fail inspection
• Carry out camera calibration and image optimization.
• Support integration with PLCs, sensors, actuators and industrial I/O.
• Conduct customer demos, trials and feasibility studies.
• Prepare application reports, technical proposals and BOMs.
• Support installation, commissioning and troubleshooting.
• Provide customer training and after-sales technical support.
• Coordinate with suppliers for complex applications.
• Maintain demo equipment and application records.

Machine Vision Knowledge RequiredCandidate should have at least basic working knowledge of:

• Industrial cameras – area scan / smart camera basics
• Lens selection and working distance
• Lighting techniques
• Exposure, gain and focus adjustment
• Triggering and digital I/O
• Image processing fundamentals
• Blob analysis
• Edge detection
• Pattern matching
• OCR / OCV
• Measurement tools
• Camera calibration
• Pass/Fail logic

Programming KnowledgeYou do not necessarily need a hardcore software developer. For your current requirement, look for someone comfortable with:

• Python – basic to intermediate
• OpenCV – basic image processing
• Basic C# or C++ knowledge is an advantage
• Basic understanding of APIs / SDKs
• Serial communication / TCP-IP basics
• Modbus TCP / PLC communication basics
• Ability to understand sample machine-vision SDK programs

For SKVA, I would make Python + OpenCV compulsory at basic level, because this will tell you whether the candidate actually understands image-processing logic rather than only operating camera software.

• Mechanical Engineering with automation/vision exposure

Experience: Fresher to 2 years can work well if the candidate has strong technical interest and practical skills.
